Refilling My Pixie Dust

Preparing your pixie dust

Ruuben & Sara · Told by Ruuben

Our story.
It started
with Disney.

A livestream chat. Frontierland. A rain-delayed parade.
And a whole new part of Disney to share.

CHAPTER 01

A shared love of Disney.

Sara and I first connected in Ron on the Go’s YouTube livestream chat, through our shared love of Disney.

We first met in person in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, after I had finished a Keys to the Kingdom tour.

CHAPTER 02

A very rainy Halloween.

Later that night, we were both at the Halloween party. Sara was with her mom and dad, and I was with Ron.

When the rain delayed the parade, I messaged her, found out she was nearby and made my way over to chat.

Eventually, the parade did go ahead. I gave Sara my spot so she could watch it. I later headed back to my room because my feet were hurting, but our conversation didn’t end there.

CHAPTER 03

More and more.

We kept texting. More and more.

Then came the late-night calls, getting to know each other better and planning more Disney adventures together.

What started in a livestream chat became a friendship, and that friendship became something more.

Our first official date wouldn’t happen until November. There would be dinner at Three Bridges, time together at the gazebo at Coronado Springs and plenty more memories to come.

But our in-person story began in Frontierland, followed by finding each other again during a very rainy Halloween party.

Disney was already a huge part of my life. Meeting Sara gave us a whole new part of it to share.

And the rest is history.

THE NAME. THE FEELING.

How Refilling My Pixie Dust got its name.

For a few years, I’ve been going to Walt Disney World six times a year. Disney is my recharge. It’s why I keep coming back.

During those visits, I started noticing the buses when they were on a break. Their signs said “Refilling My Pixie Dust.” I kept seeing those words, and I kept thinking about them. They felt like a pretty good description of what I was doing there, too.

After a while, I decided to make it my username on YouTube. Instagram came next. Then a logo was made.

And here we are now. A name I first saw on a bus became the name for this little part of my life.
