I flew United Airlines for the first time since 2014 and decided to try Business Class for my round trip. Overall, it was a really great experience.
My first flight was in seat 5A on a little over a 5 hour route. Dinner was served and the meal was genuinely excellent. The seat had seat back entertainment, which was nice, but there was no WiFi available on the flight. On a flight that long, the lack of WiFi was definitely disappointing. Seat 5A also has a bit of a downside. Because of the seat design there is slightly reduced legroom and you are positioned right in front of the economy lavatory, so there is more foot traffic.
On the return flight I sat in 5E, the aisle seat. That seat definitely offered more legroom, which I appreciated. Breakfast was served and again the meal was very good. This aircraft did not have seat back entertainment, but WiFi was available, which honestly made the flight feel much easier to pass the time.
The flight attendants on both flights were fantastic. They were warm, friendly, and checked on me regularly throughout the flights. Service really stood out in a good way.
As a traveler of size, comfort is something I always pay attention to. The seats themselves were comfortable and reclining was actually very nice. One challenge with the seats that had seat back entertainment was the remote control location. My thighs would sometimes press the buttons unintentionally. Another small issue was the viewing angle of the screen when the passenger in front reclined. It makes the screen a bit difficult to watch.
Priority baggage handling was supposed to be included. At my destination that was not followed and my bag came out later than expected. On the return flight though, my bag came out very quickly.
Overall, this was a really positive experience. I paid about the same price I have previously paid on @southwestair Airlines and the difference in comfort, meals, and service made this feel like a huge upgrade.
Would I fly @united again? Absolutely.
Curious to hear from other travelers Have you flown United Business Class recently and what was your experience? ✈️
