Magic Kingdom
The Magic Kingdom railroad is back, with a shorter route
The Walt Disney World Railroad reopened October 29, according to on-site reports. Trains are shuttling between Main Street and Fantasyland; Frontierland remains excluded.
There’s a familiar train ride back at Magic Kingdom. WDWNT and Disney Food Blog both reported the Walt Disney World Railroad running again on October 29, a day before the October 30 return shown on Disney’s calendar.
There is one important detail for anyone planning a ride: this is still a shuttle between Main Street, U.S.A. and Fantasyland. The full loop has not returned, and Frontierland is not part of the current route.

Two stations, with a return trip
Disney’s attraction page confirms that guests can board and disembark at the Main Street and Fantasyland stations. Trains travel between those two stops and back again, rather than making the familiar circuit around the park.
The modified route remains in place during Magic Kingdom’s expansion work. Disney has not given a firm date for the return of normal full-loop service.
Back a day ahead of the calendar
Both on-site reports describe the October 29 reopening after the recent refurbishment closure. Disney’s own attraction page was still showing inconsistent operating information when checked, so the reopening date here comes from those reports, not a separate official announcement.
If a little time aboard the train is part of your Magic Kingdom day, check the day’s operating information before heading to a station—and plan for the Main Street–Fantasyland shuttle. It’s good to have that ride available again, even while we wait for the full journey to return.
