Tower of Terror’s restored lightning scar is visible again

October 26 update: more of the Hollywood Tower Hotel sign and restored front is in view. Scaffolding and exterior work remain elsewhere.

UPDATE ·

More of the hotel is coming back into view

The Hollywood Tower Hotel sign has a little more breathing room. In WDWMAGIC’s October 26 photo report, the sign and the facade immediately around it look noticeably less obstructed than in BlogMickey’s October 23 pictures. Those earlier views still had scaffolding crossing the front of the sign.

This is a clearer look at the restoration, not a finished job. WDWMAGIC reports that scaffolding remains along the sides, rear and lower front, with work continuing in the outdoor queue. The attraction continues to operate during the work, according to its report.

The refreshed lightning scar was already visible in the October 23 reporting covered below. The new detail here is the more open view around the sign, rather than another paint reveal.

Tower of Terror’s lightning scar is back in view above the Hollywood Tower Hotel sign. BlogMickey’s October 23 photographs show the upper scaffolding removed, revealing renewed purple, blue and indigo paintwork.

A clearer look at the hotel’s storm damage

The refreshed streaks and painted cracks bring the lightning-strike detail into focus. Earlier October 19 photos showed the colour through scaffolding; the new views reveal much more of the upper facade.

The exterior work is not finished

Scaffolding still covers parts of the sides and lower floors. The attraction has remained open during the exterior refresh, according to the report, but Disney has not confirmed a completion date.

For now, this is a visible restoration milestone, not an announcement that the whole refurbishment is complete.
