Disney World adds more resort-specific room requests in My Disney Experience
More specific hotel preferences are appearing in the app, including resort sections and proximity to transportation. They are still requests, not guaranteed room assignments.
Disney World’s hotel room-request menus are getting more specific. Guests are seeing options tied to their resort, such as Near Skyliner at Caribbean Beach and Rock Inn Section at All-Star Music. WDWMagic reported the expanded choices on October 21.
The important catch: you are asking for a preference, not reserving a particular room. The choices you see depend on both your resort and the room category you booked.

What changed, and what didn’t
Room requests in My Disney Experience are not new. A September 2022 planDisney answer already described Pop Century building sections, bed types and floor preferences. The latest reporting is about expanded, resort-specific choices.
Disney has not provided a launch date in the sources checked for this story. October 21 is the date of the report, not a confirmed Disney announcement date.
How to check your stay
Open your linked hotel reservation in My Disney Experience and start or update online check-in. Find Room Requests and review the options available for your booking.
You may also see a room-readiness priority option. Use that if getting into a room sooner matters more than the preferences you entered. It does not guarantee early check-in.
What you can’t count on
Requests are subject to availability. These menus do not guarantee a particular room number or an upgrade. If the choice you need is missing, planDisney recommends contacting Disney’s hotel reservations team.
And if you used TouringPlans to send a room request before, that automatic service ended on April 19, 2026. Its Room Finder is still available. The updated Disney dropdowns are not a replacement for requesting an exact room through that old service.
