More Disney Springs shops stop accepting Disney Gift Cards
LEGO, Sephora and Vuori are the latest shops named in reporting. Bring another way to pay—but this is not a Disney-wide gift-card ban.
If you have a Disney Gift Card put aside for a Disney Springs shopping day, bring a backup payment method. More independently operated shops have stopped accepting it, according to on-site reporting by WDW News Today.
The latest group named in its October 16 report is LEGO, Sephora and Vuori. That is a useful heads-up before reaching the register—not a ban on Disney Gift Cards across Walt Disney World.

Which shops are affected?
WDWNT first reported on August 10 that Zara and Vera Bradley no longer accepted Disney Gift Cards. Sephora was still accepting them at that point.
By its October 16 follow-up, LEGO and Sephora had also stopped accepting Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards Redemption Cards and Disney resort room charges. WDWNT reported payment notices at LEGO. Vuori, which opened that day, was not accepting those payment types either.
These are the dates of the reports, not necessarily the day each store changed its policy. The October 20 Mickey Visit article that brought this back into the conversation follows those earlier reports.
What Disney’s own terms say
Disney’s US Gift Card terms say the cards can be used at select participating Walt Disney World locations. They do not promise acceptance at every business in Disney Springs, and they do not name these five shops. The individual store changes above come from WDWNT’s reporting, rather than a Disney announcement.
The distinction matters: a Disney Springs address does not automatically mean a store accepts Disney Gift Cards. Check with the particular shop before buying or loading a card for a planned purchase.
What about dining and the balance already on your card?
WDWNT reported that dining locations and third-party shops inside the theme parks had not been affected so far, and that Disney-operated shops continued to accept the cards. That is a dated observation, not a guarantee for every restaurant or future visit.
Disney’s official mobile food-ordering guidance still lists Disney Gift Cards as an accepted payment method. And the official Gift Card terms say the cards do not expire and have no inactivity or service fees. A particular shop declining your card is not the same thing as your remaining balance disappearing.
For a shopping day, the practical fix is simple: keep another payment method handy, and ask before you start spending a gift-card budget. It is a much nicer conversation before the bags are packed.
